What do we do?

We prepare members of the public for the IAM’s RoadSmart Advanced Driver Test.

We offer a structured course over 6 sessions, run nominally on a fortnightly rota. There are exceptions to this when we have holidays and family gatherings.

Each session begins with a classroom discussion of this week’s topics. There is a presentation of the concepts, with questions being asked throughout the session. You then take an observer out in your car for a check drive to see how you can put the theory into practice.

After the course has finished, if you still need a couple of sessions to ensure that you are test ready, we assign a one-to-one observer to do just that.

Finally, you undertake an assessment with an IAM examiner, not at all like your original driving test, and pass with flying colours!
